Career Highlights of

EUGENE E. "TIM" SCOTT, JR.

Media pioneer was the best way to describe Timothy Scott whose career spanned the
electronic spectrum from the Golden Days of TV, through the birth of Cable Television and interactive home shopping, to the early stages of the optical laser disc and into the distribution of a new TV production tool for broadband content development.

Timothy Scott started his career as the executive-in-charge -of-production on classic television programs such as Gunsmoke, Maverick, The Andy Griffith Show, G.E. Theater and many more in the 50's and 60's. He was responsible for advertising and television production for Fortune 500 companies, Procter and Gamble, General Foods and General Electric.

In the 60's and 70's Scott Co-Founded Qualis Productions where he developed and/or produced in partnership with Fox, MGM, private investors and other production companies network series, specials and pilots including: The Monroes, The International World of Magic (Hosted by David Niven and Tony Randall), McMasters of Sweetwater (Starring Jack Cassidy), Black Omnibus (Starring James Earl Jones), Election 72: 18 and Over, and The All Star Game Show.

Scott's life long interest in leading edge technology led him to become involved with the inventors of the optical laser disc developing the early marketing strategy. He negotiated the sale of optical laser technology to MCA. During this same period of time, Scott became involved with the start-up of Cable Television obtaining an early on franchise for Dekalb, GA.

The late 1970's found Scott pioneering the first US interactive concept, which later evolved into the Home Shopping Network. He also consulted and co-produced for cable networks and advertising agencies.

In the 80's, he developed over forty projects for network and theatrical distribution while with TVL Production, a subsidiary of National TV Log, Inc.

When consumer electronics became its' own industry in the late 80's, Scott conceived, designed, obtained financing and operated a VCR camera rental company set up as a franchise concept that rented video camcorders and accessories to the general public.

Scott's career followed a different trail in the 90's as he branched out into cycling as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Cycle League International where he designed a fast-paced race format compatible with TV and he developed and implemented a franchise and merchandising program.

Scott was the National Sales Manager for a revolutionary new TV production tool called the PixBox, which packs the essential functions of a TV Remote Truck into a suitcase.

Scott attended Dartmouth College and received his BA in Motion Pictures from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was a U-S Navy combat cameraman in Korea.
