CHARLOTTE, NCTurner Sports Interactive/ NASCAR.com recently selected the PIXBOX from Creation Technologies to serve as the multi-camera television control room for a live 2 1/2 hour webcast.

The Jeff Gordon Fan Club open-access webcast was a special live event sponsored by NASCAR.com. The webcast originated from the new Hendrick Motorsports Race Shop Headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

During the webcast, the Jeff Foundation outlined its contribution to charities benefiting the children of September 11 victims.

PIXBOX Field Engineer Mark Scott flew the PIXBOX as luggage back through Atlanta to Charlotte. Arriving the day prior to the event, Scott checked-out the equipment upon arrival and the rugged PIXBOX was ready to mix some live camera feeds.

Turner Sports Interactive/NASCAR roducer/Director Peter Scott calls the shots on a PIXBOX at recent NASCAR webcast.

The next morning, Turner Sports Interactive/ NASCAR Sr. Director of Multimedia Content Peter Scott met Mark and three Canon and Panasonic camcorders and operators from Bexel/Atlanta and Turner Sports Interactive/NASCAR. In a few hours they were set up and webcasting the 2 1/2 hour webcast.

The PIXBOX is a revolutionary new television production tool which replaces the essential functions of a broadcast mobile unit and provides “plug and play” camera compatibility into a suit-case size package. Manufactured in Burbank, California, the PIXBOX allows several color video cameras or camcorders to be mixed, live, to create a real-time television program.

The PIXBOX makes it possible to televise any live event, using a variety of consumer, prosumer or professional cameras without the need for a broadcast mobile unit. The PixBox, at about 33 pounds, can be carried to most locations and set-up in a quiet corner much like a multi-channel sound mixing console is used.

You may find out more about the PIXBOX at: www.pixbox.tv on the World Wide Web or by calling toll free: (866) 749-2699.

“The PIXBOX was very reliable and easy to use. It was simple to set up and the webcast looked like it was produced from a mobile unit. The flexibility to use different kind of camera inputs and as well as a built-in frame sync made the device completely turnkey. Also the ability to output to multiple sources i.e., a transmission truck, high speed connection or a tape deck made it ideal for all of our types of distribution. I would highly recommend this product to both the prosumer and the professional!”
